Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Stefan Soderberg (ranked 3311 p4p, 5052 weight class) and Niache Hippolytos (ranked 363 p4p, 469 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Stefan Soderberg!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Niache Hippolytos!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Dillan Fox and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hippolytos throws a sloppy head kick
and Soderberg counters with a right hand to the body.
Soderberg pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Hippolytos tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Soderberg looks to land a right hand but Hippolytos moved out of range.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Hippolytos! But no joy.
Soderberg slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Hippolytos defending well as Soderberg loads up on a big left hand.

Soderberg takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Stefan Soderberg seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Soderberg throws a hook but Hippolytos avoids it easily.
Hippolytos tries to counter with a clinch but Soderberg shakes him off and moves away.
Soderberg moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
It looks like Niache Hippolytos has been cut.
Hippolytos swings and misses with a shot to the body
enabling Soderberg to counter with a crisp jab.
Hippolytos throws a front kick aimed at Soderberg's knee but Soderberg avoids it well.
Soderberg throws a combination. Hippolytos tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Soderberg takes a swing at Hippolytos's ribcage but misses.
Jab, jab by Soderberg - just one landing.
Soderberg with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Soderberg lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Hippolytos throws a head kick that Soderberg semi-blocks.
It looks like Stefan Soderberg has been cut.
Soderberg lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hippolytos circles away quickly and effectively.
The fighters circling - Soderberg throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Hippolytos walks into a left hand.

and Soderberg counters with a nice uppercut.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A looping hook to the body misses from Soderberg. Hippolytos does a little dance to reset his feet.
Soderberg throws a shot to the body.
Soderberg lands a nice shot that snaps Hippolytos's head back.
Hippolytos is rocked!
Hippolytos is aggressively charging in as Soderberg backs up avoiding any damage. Soderberg tosses out a jab and Hippolytos runs right into it face first! Hippolytos is out cold! Soderberg dropped down on all fours and is barking in Hippolytos's face like a pit bull in celebration until the ref was finally able to pull him away!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Stefan Soderberg!
