Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Grant Kennedy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Mica (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Grant Kennedy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, John Mica!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Dillan Fox and Yves DeLean.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mica blocks a head kick by Kennedy.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Kennedy looks for a takedown but Mica sprawls well.
Kennedy shoots in looking for a takedown. Mica tries to sprawl out of it but Kennedy keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mica manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Kennedy feints and as Mica raises his hands in defense, Kennedy changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mica is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Kennedy drops back looking for a leg! Mica is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Mica manages to kick Kennedy off! Kennedy jumps back into Mica's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Mica closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Kennedy did well to prevent Mica getting side control.

Mica uses his free foot to push down on Kennedy's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Kennedy.

Kennedy throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Kennedy drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kennedy jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Kennedy throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Mica was covering up waiting for the punch and Kennedy finishes the takedown easily into guard.
