Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rodney Packin (ranked 5066 p4p, 4398 weight class) and Vladimir Magomedov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rodney Packin could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Vladimir Magomedov's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rodney Packin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vladimir Magomedov! The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, Skip Squint and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Magomedov keeps the fight on the outside. Packin tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Magomedov manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Magomedov throws a series of strikes that have Packin backpedaling.
Magomedov gets the takedown into side control. Magomedov is staying tight to Packin's torso, preventing him from escaping. You can see the frustration on Packin's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Magomedov is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Packin has escaped the position, nice work there. Packin struggling a bit here. Packin tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's one minute gone in the round. Magomedov working the ground and pound. Magomedov gets to mount! Packin was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. Magomedov controlling the pace for now. Magomedov working for a submission but Packin is keeping him at bay. Magomedov working for a guillotine from mount but Packin is in no mood to give up. Magomedov stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Packin wants to clinch up but Magomedov keeps it at a distance. Packin moves in looking to clinch but Magomedov pushes him off. Packin tries to clinch up but Magomedov circles away and keeps his distance. Packin fails in his attempt to clinch. Packin doesn't manage to clinch there - Magomedov circles away.
Packin is looking to clinch. The fight stays on the outside here - Packin looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Magomedov shoots in and gets a takedown into Packin's guard. Packin wants to get back to his feet but Magomedov passes into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Magomedov looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Packin with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Magomedov is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Magomedov's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Magomedov has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Packin defend it? Magomedov steps over the head and cranks it - Packin is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Magomedov!
