PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between King Kong (ranked 2127 p4p, 1948 weight class) and Barry Redcola (ranked 263 p4p, 236 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, King Kong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Barry Redcola!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Phil Schofield and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

It seemed like Redcola was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Kong tries to bum rush Redcola with a series of wild strikes but Redcola uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Kong with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Redcola to score with a decent uppercut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

That was a close round but I would say that King Kong will probably get the nod.
That's time! Kong's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Redcola will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Kong, as that shot connected.
Redcola lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Redcola has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Kong finds it's way round the side to connect with Redcola's head.
Redcola tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kong was well out of range. Poor timing from Redcola.

That was a close second round but I would say that King Kong will probably get the nod.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to King Kong.
Well Kong has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
