Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gus Jackson (ranked 5318 p4p, 2179 weight class) and Finn Mcgee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Gus Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Finn Mcgee!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Michael Johnstone and David Hoff.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson misses with a hook.
Mcgee dives in for a single leg takedown but Jackson sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Finn Mcgee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Mcgee changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Jackson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jackson definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
You can see the frustration on Jackson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Jackson swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Let's hope that Mcgee has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Mcgee really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jackson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

You can see the frustration on Jackson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Mcgee remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Mcgee.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Mcgee shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jackson pinned against the cage. Jackson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

That's time! Jackson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Mcgee shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Jackson manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Mcgee has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Mcgee there as he acknowledges the shot.

Mcgee closes the distance and clinches up with Jackson, looking for a takedown. Mcgee pushes Jackson against the cage but Jackson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Jackson tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Mcgee is still in real trouble! Can Jackson finish him?

Jackson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Mcgee knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Jackson moves into full mount!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mcgee can do anything to dispel that myth.

Mcgee is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Jackson locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Mcgee is forced to tap!
