Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Yuuki Gou and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rivera scores with a jab. Thompson acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

Rivera throws a leg kick
and Thompson counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rivera is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Thompson lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Thompson connects with a nice short shot to Rivera's temple.
Thompson works his foot free and advances to mount.
Rivera is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Thompson fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Rivera tries to buck Thompson off but he can't manage it.
Rivera wants to get back to his feet but in bucking up he's left an arm hanging out! Thompson has locked onto it and has pulled off a slick armbar! Rivera taps furiously! This one is all over!
