This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of New York, with a TWGC record of 58 wins and 40 losses; Vasiliy Kulik! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Tokyo, with a TWGC record of 36 wins and 47 losses; Gaston Juncker! The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Paul Tew and Phil Schofield.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Kulik moves into the clinch. Kulik tightens his grip and picks Juncker up, before dumping him to the ground. Juncker manages to land in guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Kulik (2) vs (0) Juncker The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kulik tries to free his leg and advance position but Juncker is retaining full guard. Kulik is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Kulik won't allow Juncker to sweep him here. Kulik being controlled here momentarily. Juncker looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kulik is one step ahead there.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Juncker is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Kulik slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Kulik advances position into side control! That's three minutes gone in the round. Kulik tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Juncker tries to buck Kulik off but Kulik is having none of it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Juncker is holding Kulik down, trying to stall. Kulik will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Juncker manages to get back to half guard. Juncker desperately trying to maintain half guard. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Kulik in particular looking to stall.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Juncker has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kulik is working away from the top position though. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Juncker tries to get to full guard but Kulik has control of the leg. Kulik looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Juncker regains full guard. Nicely done.
That's six minutes gone in the round. Kulik wants to pass the guard but Juncker is keeping the position. Juncker can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Kulik controls the pace. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Juncker looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
That's seven minutes gone in the round. Kulik pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Juncker is keeping the position for now. Kulik engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Kulik has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage. Juncker is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Juncker trying to control the position but Kulik is working away.
That's ten minutes gone in the round. Kulik is looking for a sweep. Juncker has knee on belly momentarily but Kulik bucks him off and regains half guard. Juncker is thwarting Kulik's attempts to control the position. Kulik gets back to full guard.
That's eleven minutes gone in the round. Kulik looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Kulik is working hard here to advance position. Kulik has control of Juncker's left arm, preventing Juncker from doing any damage.
That's twelve minutes gone in the round. Juncker trying to control but Kulik is working from the bottom. Juncker tries to free his leg and advance position but Kulik is retaining full guard. Kulik seems keen to control Juncker's posture. Kulik is trying to keep Juncker in close.

That's thirteen minutes gone in the round. Kulik has his hands on Juncker's head, controlling the position. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
That's fourteen minutes gone in the round. Juncker is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that's the end of the fight! As we have tied on points and both fighters attempted the same number of subs, we will decide the bout based on the toss of a coin! Kulik is heads and Juncker is tails. The coin is in the air and it lands... heads! Kulik takes the fight on points by 6 to 5.
