The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McLaughlin moves into the clinch.

McLaughlin gets control of Mebab's arms and successfully pulls guard. McLaughlin will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Mebab lands a couple of elbows.
McLaughlin utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Mebab throwing strikes from guard but McLaughlin blocks nicely.

McLaughlin tries to land a sweep but no joy.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mebab is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and McLaughlin defends well.
Our spies down at at Cozad MMA Los Angeles inform us that Mebab has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

Mebab has his foot on McLaughlin's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. McLaughlin works his way back into a safe position though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mebab stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! McLaughlin throws up his legs and catches Mebab in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Mebab tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by McLaughlin! That came out of nowhere!
