Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bruce Wagner (ranked 3458 p4p, 5242 weight class) and Ranganathan Iyer (ranked 379 p4p, 491 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bruce Wagner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Ranganathan Iyer!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Gwen Towbar and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Iyer bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Iyer dives in and grabs Wagner's left leg, looking for a takedown. Wagner pushes down on Iyer's head and hops out.

Iyer looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Wagner fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Iyer on the side of the head.
A clash of legs there as Iyer blocks the low kick.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Iyer shoots in for a takedown but Wagner shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Wagner lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Wagner throws a shot from downtown. Iyer moves away and avoids it.
Nice defenses there by Iyer.
And Iyer tries to counter it with a takedown but Wagner pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Wagner lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Wagner lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Bruce Wagner dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Iyer shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Iyer was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Wagner bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!

Wagner cracks Iyer with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Wagner has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

Iyer shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Wagner sprawls well. Wagner wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Iyer gets slowly back to his feet.
Wagner looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
