Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rodrigo Ferraz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rodrigo Ferraz will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Carlos Gracie! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rodrigo Ferraz! The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Alexandre Firmino and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ferraz rushes Gracie and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Ferraz has Gracie pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Gracie manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Nice body punch from Ferraz - that landed with a thud.
Ferraz breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Gracie. Ferraz lands a nice shot to the body.
Ferraz uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Gracie has time to react. Ferraz tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Ferraz tries to clinch but Gracie is having none of it. Ferraz is looking to clinch. Gracie throws a right and a left that Ferraz avoids nicely. Ferraz gets a clinch. Ferraz breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Gracie tries for a takedown but Ferraz sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Ferraz shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Gracie as he avoids it easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ferraz thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Gracie if he has to take too many more of those.
Gracie is breathing heavily. Ferraz pushes Gracie up against the cage in a clinch. Ferraz's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Ferraz misses with a double jab.
Ferraz tries to land a front kick but Gracie steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Ferraz shoots and misses and Gracie counters with a nice double leg into guard. Carlos Gracie has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rodrigo Ferraz. Ferraz is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Gracie trying to control the position from guard on top but Ferraz is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Gracie might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ferraz is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Ferraz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gracie. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Gracie wants to control from the top but Ferraz keeps moving. Gracie drops back looking for a leg! Ferraz is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Ferraz manages to kick Gracie off! Gracie jumps back into Ferraz's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ferraz wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Ferraz is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Ferraz misses with a double jab.
Ferraz lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Gracie circles away quickly and effectively. Ferraz blocks a head kick by Gracie.
Gracie fails to land with a series of punches.
Ferraz throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Gracie drives through with a takedown into guard. Gracie stops Ferraz from standing up. Ferraz keeping moving, preventing Gracie from controlling successfully. Gracie is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Ferraz is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gracie stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ferraz swivels though and keeps the full guard. Gracie drops back looking for a leg! Ferraz is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Ferraz manages to kick Gracie off! Gracie jumps back into Ferraz's guard. Ferraz is controlling Gracie's posture. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rodrigo Ferraz dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Ferraz gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Gracie pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Ferraz is keeping the position for now. Gracie postures up.
Gracie trying to control the position from guard on top but Ferraz is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Gracie is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Ferraz is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Ferraz has escaped and now he's on top! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Ferraz gets to his feet - Gracie follows without any prompting.
That's one minute gone in the round. A cross from Ferraz lands. Gracie takes a body punch but keeps moving. Gracie ducks under a wild hook from Ferraz. Ferraz moves in looking to clinch but Gracie pushes him off. Ferraz tries to clinch and Gracie counters with a nice double leg into side control. Ferraz won't be happy with that. Ferraz tries to escape but Gracie is in control. Gracie is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Ferraz is trying to escape and Gracie transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Ferraz is forced to tap! Nice work there by Gracie! Very nice indeed!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:04 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Carlos Gracie!
