Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kendrick Sosa (ranked 25109 p4p, 24552 weight class) and Mawunyo Kato (ranked 565 p4p, 603 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 13 - 2, fighting out of Montreal, Kendrick Sosa! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 6 - 15 - 2, fighting out of Montreal, Mawunyo Kato! The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Bruno Lombardi and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kato drives through and clinches with Sosa against the cage.
Kato has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Sosa uses from the top position. Kato has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Sosa is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Kato. Kato is trying to improve his position. Sosa staying calm. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kato is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kato gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sosa is taking a breather. Kato says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Kato looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Well, if Sosa is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Sosa performing his best blanket impression for a moment. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kato wants to control but Sosa is keeping busy.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Kato clinches with his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kato pulls guard. Kato being controlled here, momentarily. Sosa continues to stall. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Kato is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Sosa works a leg free and moves into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Kato is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Sosa pulls his head out easily. The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Kato looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Sosa pushes past his half guard into mount! Sosa takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! More hug and hope from Sosa. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Kendrick Sosa will probably get the nod. That's time! Sosa's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Sosa is trying to get an arm triangle but Kato is defending well. Sosa could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Sosa in side control, just content to control the action for now. Kato is looking to reverse the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sosa remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Kato wants to control but Sosa postures up. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Kato looking for a sweep but Sosa has passed into full mount! Oh no! Kato keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Kendrick Sosa overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Kato throws his legs up looking for a submission but Sosa uses it to pass to side control.

Right on cue, Sosa cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Sosa content just to control the position here. Sosa's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Kato wants to control but Sosa is having none of it.

And that's the end of the fight! Kendrick Sosa showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Sosa, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
