Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fight stays on the outside here - Garvin looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Smith throws a right and a left that Garvin avoids nicely. Smith swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Garvin throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Smith throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Garvin shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Smith pinned against the cage. Smith gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Garvin wants to clinch. Garvin looks to score with a jab to the body but Smith is just out of range. Smith looks to land a combination but Garvin avoids it well. Smith bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Garvin's head. This has been an exciting period of action! Horrible takedown by Garvin or perhaps it was just good defense by Smith which made him look bad. Smith getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Garvin shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. William Smith has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paul Garvin. Garvin looks gassed! Smith bobbing and weaving well here. And he's unloaded with a massive right hand that drops Garvin! He dives into his guard looking to finish!
Smith stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Garvin swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Garvin is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Smith is aware though and is defending well. Smith passes Garvin's left leg - he's now in half guard. Smith not doing much here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Smith controlling the pace for now. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Smith tries to control but Garvin wriggling away. Smith postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Garvin looks a forlorn figure.
Smith is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Garvin can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Smith lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Smith tries to clinch but Garvin is having none of it. Garvin keeps the fight on the outside. William Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Garvin has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Smith finds it's way round the side to connect with Garvin's head. Nice body punch from Smith. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Smith wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Smith sends Garvin crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Smith is motioning to the referee to let Garvin up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet! Smith throws a big overhand right that connects, sending Garvin tumbling to the canvas!
Garvin is rocked! Smith is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Garvin can do to turn this around? Garvin keeping moving, preventing Smith from controlling successfully. Smith sitting in guard, not really doing much. Smith has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Garvin is proving hard to escape from. Garvin is breathing heavily. Smith passes Garvin's left leg - he's now in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smith lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Smith working Garvin over with strikes. Smith winds up and cracks Garvin with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Smith is nestled in close to Garvin, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Garvin is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Smith pulls his head out easily. Smith looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Ground and pound from Smith. Smith trying to control the pace. Smith working the head and body with strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Smith tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Garvin. Smith escapes and gets back to his feet. Smith throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Garvin takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Smith scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. William Smith is winning the standup battle so far. Smith misses with a few strikes there.
Smith lands a nice shot to the body.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. A right-left combo lands from Smith. William Smith is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Smith doesn't manage to clinch there - Garvin circles away.
Garvin walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Garvin takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Smith lands a body shot.

Smith stuns Garvin with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Smith closes the distance but Garvin moves to the side letting Garvin counter with a right hand. Smith tries to land a front kick but Garvin steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. William Smith is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Smith misses with a two punch combination.
