Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between James Dean (ranked 2559 p4p, 2081 weight class) and Larry LeFell (ranked 294 p4p, 251 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, James Dean!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Larry LeFell!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Dirk Anderson and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
LeFell misses with a takedown attempt
and LeFell takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
LeFell shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
LeFell darts in looking for a takedown but Dean gets double underhooks and turns LeFell into the cage.

Dean gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Dean trying to keep a closed guard but LeFell is proving a slippery customer.
LeFell postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
LeFell has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
LeFell trying to control but Dean is working from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
LeFell is pushing down on Dean's leg trying to pass to half guard. Dean is fighting to maintain full guard but LeFell has managed to sneak the leg through.

LeFell is working for a kimura but Dean is defending it quite comfortably.
Dean is trying to get back to full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dean is working hard here to advance position.
Dean is trying to control but can't.
LeFell is keen to just control but Dean is a slippery customer.
LeFell tries to pass the half guard into mount. Dean knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Dean is looking for a sweep. LeFell is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
LeFell looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

LeFell is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
LeFell is pressing down on Dean's thigh, looking to free his foot. Dean is holding on for now.
Dean looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Dean wants to improve his position but LeFell is controlling well.
Dean is staying active underneath LeFell, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
LeFell controlling the pace.

LeFell in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Dean tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from LeFell!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Larry LeFell!
A relieved looking Larry LeFell thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
