Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Luke Ridley (ranked 2031 p4p, 1785 weight class) and Alvro Machado (ranked 210 p4p, 187 weight class). Luke Ridley has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Luke Ridley! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Alvro Machado! The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Santiago Holmes and Winston Alpacca.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Machado keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Machado has Ridley up against the cage in a clinch.
Machado jumps guard but Ridley stands there with Machado around his waist. Machado gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Ridley misses with a body punch.
Ridley is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Machado can't fight it off and eventually Ridley manages to take the fight to the floor. Machado looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Machado is trying to control the position but Ridley postures up. Machado has his foot on Ridley's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ridley works his way back into a safe position though. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ridley looking to pass the guard. Ridley controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Machado has his foot on Ridley's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ridley works his way back into a safe position though. Ridley trying to control the position from guard on top but Machado is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's one minute gone in the round. Machado had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Ridley defends it easily. Machado looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Ridley got a little sloppy there for a moment and Machado has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ridley has managed to get both his arms back between Machado's legs - danger averted. Ridley keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Machado's head. Machado is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Ridley defends well. Machado throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Ridley has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Machado looking for a triangle here. Ridley is fighting it but it looks tight! Machado pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Ridley is tapping out - this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Alvro Machado! Alvro Machado decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
