Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mario Waters (ranked 25553 p4p, 5319 weight class) and Roman Vitali (ranked 496 p4p, 466 weight class). Vitali is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by ULKENDER - Machenskii. Roman Vitali has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Mario Waters's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mario Waters! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Roman Vitali! The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Santiago Holmes and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vitali clinches up against the cage. Vitali pulls guard effortlessly. Vitali is pulling down on Waters's head to control his posture. Vitali wants to hit a sweep here but Waters passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Vitali there! Vitali looks out of his depth in this position - he's holding on tight. Vitali looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Vitali wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Vitali showing good submission defense here.

That's one minute gone in the round. Vitali is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Waters patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here? The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Waters's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Waters is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Vitali has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Vitali postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Vitali got a little sloppy there for a moment and Waters has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Vitali has managed to get both his arms back between Waters's legs - danger averted. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Mario Waters will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Vitali gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Vitali is trying to pull guard but Waters has him pressed against the cage. Vitali tries to pull guard but Waters holds him up against the cage and eventually Vitali drops back down to his feet.
Waters gets control of Vitali's arms and successfully pulls guard. Waters will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Vitali controlling from the top position. Vitali makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Waters holds on and takes a little breather. Waters controls Vitali momentarily but Vitali frees himself.

Mario Waters overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Waters actively working from the bottom here. Vitali takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Vitali scoring with strikes to the body and head. Vitali is looking to advance position but Waters won't allow it. Waters trying to control here.
Waters gets back to full guard.
Vitali controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Waters looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Waters looking for a guillotine here but Vitali defends easily.
Vitali not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Vitali gets in close and instigates a clinch. Vitali pulls Waters into guard.
Vitali looking to hit a scissor sweep but Waters is one step ahead there. Vitali keeps trying to improve his position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Vitali has control of Waters's left arm, preventing Waters from doing any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Waters tries to free his leg and advance position but Vitali is retaining full guard.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Waters decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Waters seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Vitali really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Waters. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Waters wants to work for an arm triangle but Vitali is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Vitali breaks from Waters's wrist control and lands an elbow.
