Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mate Magyar (ranked 4356 p4p, 4504 weight class) and Benjamin Catch (ranked 383 p4p, 389 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mate Magyar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Benjamin Catch!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yuuki Gou and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Catch gets a takedown into half guard.
Magyar is looking for a sweep. Catch is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Magyar regains full guard. Nicely done.
Catch in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Magyar controlling the position.

Catch has gone for a leg lock! Magyar slips out almost immediately though and dives into Catch's guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Magyar content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Magyar trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Catch manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!

Magyar looking to hit a scissor sweep but Catch is one step ahead there.

Magyar is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Magyar is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Catch postures up and lands a big shot to Magyar's brow.
Catch passes Magyar's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Catch is controlling the pace.
Magyar pushes Catch off looking to stand but Catch dives back in and keeps control.

Catch missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Catch not doing much here.
Magyar is looking to control Catch's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Magyar avoid being mounted?
Magyar works his way to full guard. Good work.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Catch looks for a takedown but Magyar sprawls well.
Magyar tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Catch defends well and Magyar ends up having to push Catch into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Catch with the counter takedown but Magyar avoids it easily.

Magyar manages to pull guard.
Magyar is trying to control the position but Catch postures up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Magyar manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Catch manages to get himself to full guard.

Magyar wants to control from the top but Catch keeps moving.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Magyar throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Catch works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Mate Magyar will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Horrible takedown attempt by Catch or perhaps it was just good defense by Magyar, which made it look bad.
Magyar shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Catch but Catch pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Magyar looks for a takedown but Catch sprawls well.

Magyar keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Magyar on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Magyar tries to get out of the position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Catch looking to sit in guard and control but Magyar gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Catch preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Magyar distracts Catch with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Magyar trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Magyar stopping the sweep attempt from Catch.
Magyar postures up and lands a big shot to Catch's brow.

Catch is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Magyar passes Catch's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Magyar sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Catch defending well though.
Magyar wants to lay and pray for a moment but Catch keeps working.
Magyar is nestled in close to Catch, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Catch wants to control but Magyar is keeping busy.
Magyar is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Magyar seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Magyar not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Magyar slips a nice elbow through Catch's hands, connecting with Catch's forehead.
Magyar not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Magyar wants to free his trapped foot but Catch is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Catch is refusing to be controlled, as Magyar sits in half guard.
Catch avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Magyar.
Magyar landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Magyar is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Catch can do to turn this around?
Catch is looking to improve his position.

Magyar looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Magyar tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Catch manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Catch defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Magyar.
Catch fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Mate Magyar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Magyar shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Magyar was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Catch throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

Catch shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Magyar napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Catch works to advance to full mount. Magyar defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Magyar is looking to get to half guard.
Catch with a couple of short strikes.
Catch sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

Catch prevents Magyar from getting the reversal.
Magyar has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Catch working some short elbows here. He postures up to throw some more ground and pound but Magyar slips a leg through to get back to half guard. Nice work.
Catch not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Mate Magyar is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Magyar pulls Catch in close to his closed guard and prevents Catch from doing any damage or advancing position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

I think Magyar has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
