Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dolph Rush (ranked 5215 p4p, 4918 weight class) and Bennie Howard (ranked 485 p4p, 466 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dolph Rush!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bennie Howard!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rush misses with a series of wild punches.
Howard fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Rush, pushing him back against the cage.
Rush working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Howard doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Howard breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Bennie Howard seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Howard throws a head kick but Rush moves out of range.
A low kick from Howard is predictable there
and Howard takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Howard shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Howard fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Rush.
Howard lands a high kick!
Howard misses with a body kick.
Howard buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Rush lands a glancing blow to the side of Howard's head.
Rush tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Rush leaves Howard with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Rush connects with a nice looking jab.
Howard tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Rush manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Rush avoids the head kick by Howard.
Howard lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Howard throws a nice head kick!
We've been told by Rush's head coaches at BANZAI COMBAT ACADEMY LAS VEGAS that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Dolph Rush is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Rush dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Howard lands a high kick!
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Howard connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Howard misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Howard misses with a few strikes there.
Rush throws a series of punches but Howard avoids them all with ease.
Rush blocks a head kick by Howard.
Rush keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Rush throws a good cross that connects.
Howard throws a sloppy head kick
and Rush counters with a series of strikes. Howard will be more careful next time no doubt.
Howard throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Rush lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Howard throws a series of punches but Rush avoids them all with ease.
Rush throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Howard on the side of the head.

Rush fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Howard on the side of the head.
Howard closes the distance but Rush moves to the side
and Rush counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Rush lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Rush slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Rush lands with an overhand left.
Howard throws a combination that misses
and Rush makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
A head kick by Howard misses
and Rush counters with a series of strikes. Howard will be more careful next time no doubt.
Howard is rocked!
Rush lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Howard up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Rush from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Howard's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Dolph Rush!
