Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Makkonen Kebede (ranked 4172 p4p, 4373 weight class) and Rafael Darren (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Darren has chosen Yeah! as his entrance music. Makkonen Kebede has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Makkonen Kebede!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 12 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Rafael Darren!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Darren lands a two punch combo.
Kebede blocks a head kick by Darren.

Kebede throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Kebede shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

Kebede went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Kebede throws out a loose jab but Darren uses good head movement to avoid it.

Kebede is trying to drag Darren to the mat but Darren just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Kebede gets control of Darren's arms and successfully pulls guard. Kebede will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Kebede is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Darren defends well.

Kebede seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Darren must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Kebede is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Kebede escapes and gets back to his feet.

Kebede shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Darren but Darren pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Darren misses with a two punch combination.
Kebede fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Darren avoids it really well and circles away.

Darren dips to his left and cracks Kebede with an uppercut!

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

No joy there for Kebede, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Darren stuns Kebede with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Darren stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Darren wants it to stay on the feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kebede seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Darren for as long as he can get away with.
