Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ormagoba Patikilvag (ranked 5252 p4p, 4192 weight class) and Marshall Rivers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ormagoba Patikilvag has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ormagoba Patikilvag! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Marshall Rivers! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Gregory Folan and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Patikilvag dives in and grabs Rivers's left leg, looking for a takedown. Rivers pushes down on Patikilvag's head and hops out. Despite the aggression on Rivers's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. A low kick from Rivers is predictable there and Patikilvag counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Patikilvag has Rivers pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Rivers manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Rivers wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Patikilvag has him pressed against the cage. Patikilvag wants a takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ormagoba Patikilvag. That's going to take a lot out of him. Patikilvag's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Patikilvag breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sloppy strikes from Rivers. Those never looked like landing. Good work by Patikilvag as he checks the leg kick. Rivers throws a series of punches but Patikilvag avoids them all with ease. Rivers feints a jab promting Patikilvag to slip. Rivers then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Patikilvag slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Patikilvag throws a big counter combination but Rivers scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Marshall Rivers is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Patikilvag clinches up against the cage. Patikilvag pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Patikilvag dives in and grabs Rivers's left leg, looking for a takedown. Rivers pushes down on Patikilvag's head and hops out. Patikilvag closes the distance and clinches. Patikilvag breaks the clinch.
Rivers tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Patikilvag was well out of range. Poor timing from Rivers. A left and a right from Rivers both land. Nice combination. Rivers scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Patikilvag dives in for a single leg takedown but Rivers sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Patikilvag effectively controlling the action here. Patikilvag manages to pull guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rivers would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Patikilvag knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rivers on the ground. Rivers is pushing down on Patikilvag's leg trying to pass to half guard. Patikilvag is fighting to maintain full guard but Rivers has managed to sneak the leg through. Patikilvag trying to control but Rivers postures up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Patikilvag wants to control but Rivers is having none of it. Rivers has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Patikilvag's face.

We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Patikilvag tries to get out of the position. Rivers postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Patikilvag looks a forlorn figure.

Patikilvag is working hard here to advance position. Rivers swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Patikilvag is now in Rivers's guard. A big mistake from Rivers there, giving up the dominant position! Rivers has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Rivers not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Rivers is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Patikilvag defends well. This has been an exciting period of action! Patikilvag decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Rivers, up you get! And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Rivers throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Rivers throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Marshall Rivers seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Patikilvag clinches. Rivers is trying to force a seperation but Patikilvag has the dominant position. Patikilvag is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Patikilvag jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Rivers walks away with a smile on his face. Patikilvag gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Rivers follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Patikilvag doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Rivers closes the distance and lands a one-two. Rivers lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Rivers throws a wild combination but nothing lands. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Patikilvag jabs at Rivers's body. Rivers is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Patikilvag closes the distance and clinches. Patikilvag is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Rivers is defending well. Patikilvag tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Rivers just stands there and leans against the cage. Patikilvag looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Rivers looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Patikilvag throws a counter high kick but Rivers was just alert enough to avoid it. Rivers scores with a one two! Patikilvag had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Patikilvag clinches up against the cage. Patikilvag's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Rivers tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Patikilvag changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rivers tries to avoid it but Patikilvag manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rivers to the ground. Rivers escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Rivers throws a series of punches but Patikilvag moves out of range. Marshall Rivers showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Patikilvag looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Rivers passes into side control.
Ormagoba Patikilvag has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Rivers tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Rivers has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Marshall Rivers. I've got Rivers winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
