Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Texas Pete (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and mike jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Tiny Johnson and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pete closes the distance and clinches.
Pete pushes jones back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - jones has eaten all the pies!
jones tries for a takedown but Pete manages to get underhooks.
jones is working for takedown but Pete is calmly controlling the position for now.
Pete breaks from the clinch.
jones throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Pete's waist but Pete gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing jones off to one side.
Texas Pete has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of mike jones.
Pete sizes up jones with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Pete fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. jones sprawls well initially but Pete persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Pete seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Pete thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed jones's head.
jones looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
jones is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Pete pulls his head out easily.
jones looks gassed!

Pete is keen to just control but jones is a slippery customer.

Pete stalling.
jones is looking to improve his position.
Pete stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Pete darts in and clinches jones up against the cage.
Pete manages to break the clinch.
jones shoots and misses
and Pete counters with a nice double leg into side control. jones won't be happy with that.

Pete wants to control but jones is keeping him busy.
jones is letting Pete control him for a moment.
Check out the look on Pete's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

jones is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Pete prevents jones from improving his position.

Pete will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Pete knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for jones on the ground.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
jones scores with a takedown into Pete's guard.
Pete is looking for a triangle but jones pushes his legs off easily.
jones drops back looking for a leg! Pete is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Pete manages to kick jones off! jones jumps back into Pete's guard.

Pete wants to sweep here but jones controlling him for the moment.
Pete is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst jones is controlling him.
Pete is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
jones drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says jones as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Pete screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with jones! Nice submission victory there!
