Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Dave Cherry (ranked 4196 p4p, 2890 weight class) and DeVonde Swain (ranked 242 p4p, 185 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Swain shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Cherry tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Swain swivels and escapes.
Cherry swats away the attempt to clinch by Swain.
Swain throws a right and a left that both miss.

Swain clinches up with Cherry and pushes him back against the cage.
Swain on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Cherry pulls guard effortlessly.

Cherry decides to stand back up. Cherry steps back and let's Swain get back to his feet.
Swain tries to clinch but Cherry is having none of it.
Cherry tries to counter by clinching up but Swain breaks away and moves out of range.

Cherry changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Swain tries to avoid it but Cherry manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Swain to the ground. Swain escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Cherry has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Swain uses from the top position.

Cherry shoots in looking for a takedown. Swain tries to sprawl out of it but Cherry keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Swain manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Swain's jab looks to have found its range, popping Cherry under the eye.
