Coming up we have a light heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Ted Kona (ranked 5288 p4p, 5084 weight class) and Kenji Matsuda (ranked 492 p4p, 481 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ted Kona!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kenji Matsuda!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Shirou Masuda and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matsuda throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Kona is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Matsuda.
Matsuda looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Kona stalks Matsuda and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Matsuda's face. Matsuda staggers backwards, shaken.
Kona swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Matsuda counters with a really nice, stiff jab that drops Kona onto his ass. He'll have to take the mandatory count from the referee but he's back on his feet and he seems OK to continue.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kona scores with a big combo that sends Matsuda crashing to the mat! He's still conscious but the referee has seen enough as Matsuda flops around uncontrollably and he's called an end to the fight! Kona jumps onto the ropes and throws his mouthpiece into the crowd. Gross.

Our winner, Ted Kona, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
