And in the blue corner, fighting out of Tokyo, with a TWGC record of 48 wins and 30 losses; Tyron Scott! The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Colin Fotheringham and Donald Grub.
Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious? Scott shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Scott was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Score +2 for reaching mount: Wang (0) vs (6) Scott Wang is looking to improve his position but Scott isn't that keen on the idea. Scott content just to control the position here. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Wang is in all sorts of trouble here.

Wang holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Wang has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Scott is working away from the top position though. Wang is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

That's five minutes gone in the round. Wang is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Wang tries to get back to half guard but can't. Wang bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Score +2 for sweep to guard / half guard: Wang (2) vs (9) Scott Our spies down at at Hammer House of Horror inform us that Scott has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off? Wang seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Scott wants to sweep but no luck.

Score +2 for sweep to guard / half guard: Wang (2) vs (11) Scott Wang can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Scott controls the pace. Wang seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission. Scott won't allow Wang to sweep him here. Wang pulls Scott in close to prevent any damage. Wang tries to land a sweep but no joy.

That's eleven minutes gone in the round. Wang tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Scott wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Wang keeping his opponent close. Wang is trying to control Scott's posture but Scott avoids it. You can see the frustration on Wang's face as Scott controls the position. Wang prevents Scott from improving position.
That's twelve minutes gone in the round. Scott staying calm. Wang is trying to control Scott's posture but Scott avoids it. Wang is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Scott's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
That's thirteen minutes gone in the round. Scott wants to free his trapped foot but Wang is holding on for dear life with his legs. Scott is controlling the pace.

God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that's the end of the fight! Scott wins on points by 14 to 2. Our winner, Tyron Scott, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans. Long Wang was interviewed post fight and said 'No worries. Everyone here knows my opponent has a bad habit of testing positive for PEDs, so I'm sure this fight will soon be ruled a 'No Contest' by the Athletic Commission.'. |
