Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, even DAWSON!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, David Dusty!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Summer Carpenter and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
DAWSON shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Dusty but Dusty pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Dusty tries to close the distance and clinch but DAWSON swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
David Dusty seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
DAWSON misses with a series of wild punches.
Dusty tries to clinch but DAWSON is having none of it.

DAWSON fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Dusty sprawls well initially but DAWSON persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Dusty is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and DAWSON dives into side control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
DAWSON is trying to get an arm triangle but Dusty is defending well.

DAWSON feints and as Dusty raises his hands in defense, DAWSON changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

DAWSON is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Dusty is trying to escape and DAWSON transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Dusty is forced to tap! Nice work there by DAWSON! Very nice indeed!
