PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Damien Lewis (ranked 5372 p4p, 24797 weight class) and Jake Dunn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Damien Lewis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Jake Dunn!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Dmitry Maklakov and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from Lewis misses.
Dunn wants to counter the offense by Lewis and move into the clinch position.
Dunn shoots in looking for a takedown but Lewis manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Dunn's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Lewis misses with a kick to the body.

Dunn shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Lewis manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Lewis is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Lewis is looking for a triangle but Dunn pushes his legs off easily.
Dunn has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Lewis is proving hard to escape from.

That was a close round but I would say that Damien Lewis will probably get the nod.

Damien Lewis overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Dunn is squirming around, avoiding Lewis's attempts to control the action.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Damien Lewis.
Well Lewis has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Damien Lewis decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
