Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Aleki Veainu (ranked 996 p4p, 955 weight class) and King Hippo (ranked 121 p4p, 112 weight class). King Hippo told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Aleki Veainu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, King Hippo!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, David Hoff and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hippo throws a hook to the side of Veainu's head but Veainu sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
King Hippo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hippo misses with a hook. Veainu ducked under it nicely.
It looked like Veainu was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Hippo.
Veainu's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Hippo connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Veainu scrambles back to his feet.

It looks like King Hippo has been cut.
Hippo throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Hippo cracks Veainu with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Hippo's coach down at Cherokees Island Elite Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Hippo's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

and Veainu counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Veainu takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Veainu defending well as Hippo loads up on a big left hand.
Hippo works the jab nicely.

Hippo stalks Veainu and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Veainu's face. Veainu staggers backwards, shaken.

Hippo throws a looping overhand right but Veainu ducks down to avoid it.
Hippo throws a hook to the side of Veainu's head but Veainu sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Veainu definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Hippo swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Veainu was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Hippo misses with an uppercut. Veainu saw that one coming.

Veainu thows a left - swing and a miss!

Hippo throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Veainu.
Veainu bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
That has opened up King Hippo's cut even more.

Veainu drops Hippo with a naaaaasty hook - Hippo is in real trouble here! Veainu dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!
