Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Andre Bordes! The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Alexandre Firmino and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bordes shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Sackson but Sackson pushes him off and we're back to square one. Sackson shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Sackson showed some decent athleticism there. Sackson with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Bordes wants to control but Sackson is keeping busy and won't allow it. Sackson trying to control the pace. Bordes is trying to get back to full guard. Sackson wants to pass to mount but Bordes is defending the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sackson performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Bordes tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

Sackson decides to stand and escape the position. Sackson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Bordes tries to hold on but Sackson pushes him away. Bordes is wriggling around trying to escape.
Bordes throwing hammer fists to the chest of Sackson. What's that going to do exactly? Sackson moves to the back. Bordes wants to control his opponent's hands but Sackson gets his hands free. Bordes is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Sackson gets his way!
Bordes tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Sackson is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sackson controlling the pace for now. Bordes tries to hold on but Sackson postures up. Bordes manages to regain half guard. Good work. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Sackson trying to control from half guard but Bordes is working away. Bordes actively working from the bottom here. Bordes wants to control but Sackson is keeping busy.

Sackson is looking to advance position but Bordes won't allow it. Sackson stands up and beckons Bordes to join him on the feet. Bordes with a poor takedown and Sackson counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Sackson stands up from Bordes's guard - Sackson perhaps looking for a knockout. Bordes tries for a takedown but Sackson circles away easily and Sackson counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Andrew Sackson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andre Bordes. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bordes misses with some strikes from the bottom.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Sackson performing his best blanket impression for a moment. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sackson gets to his feet - Bordes follows without any prompting. Sackson drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Sackson is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Bordes will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Sackson stands up. Bordes gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily so Sackson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Bordes with a lazy takedown attempt and Sackson counters with a nice double leg into guard. Sackson wants to pass the guard but Bordes is keeping the position. Bordes had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Sackson is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Bordes Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Sackson's back instead. Sackson manages to reverse the position and now he's in Bordes's guard. Nice work there by Sackson.

Sackson stands up from mount. Strange move. Sackson misses with a takedown attempt and Bordes counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Sackson is looking to control Bordes's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Sackson avoid being mounted? Sackson is holding on to half guard well.

Sackson is adopting a defensive guard. Bordes in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Andrew Sackson. Well Sackson has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win...
