Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gabriel Soares!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 23 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Wesley Clark!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Daniel Blasius and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Clark drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Soares dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Clark misses with a wild combination.
Soares tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Clark manages to circle out of the way.
Soares jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Soares ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Soares throws a body punch but Clark moves out of range.
Soares uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Clark.
Clark throws a big shot that misses.
Soares cracks Clark with a good jab.
Soares looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Clark fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Soares manages to avoid it.
Soares darts in and clinches Clark up against the cage.
Clark misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Clark lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Soares backwards.
Soares tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Clark misses with a punch to the body.
Clark throws a head punch that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Soares blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Clark misses with a body punch.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Clark.
Soares lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Clark wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Soares has him pressed against the cage.
A right handed body shot lands from Soares.
Clark gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Soares keeping moving, preventing Clark from controlling successfully.
Soares working a defensive guard here.
Soares working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Clark doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Clark manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Soares keeping moving, preventing Clark from controlling successfully.
Soares working for a triangle but Clark defends it easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Soares controls Clark momentarily but Clark frees himself.
Clark must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Clark is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Soares has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Clark is looking to defend but Soares has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Clark! Soares pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Clark taps out and this one is all over!
