Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 40 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rikkard Hanson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hudson Clarkson!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Robert Twigg and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Clarkson lands the left hand.

It looks like Rikkard Hanson has been cut.

Hanson closes the distance and pushes Clarkson back into the cage.

Clarkson is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Hanson can't fight it off and eventually Clarkson manages to take the fight to the floor. Hanson looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Hanson wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Clarkson manages to pass to side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.


Clarkson is working for a kimura but Hanson is defending it quite comfortably.
Still in half guard, Clarkson seems content to control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Clarkson wants to pass the guard but Hanson is defending well.

Clarkson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hanson is just riding it out for now. Clarkson eventually gives up the hold.

Clarkson slows the pace down in half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
It looks like Clarkson might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Clarkson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hanson is just riding it out for now. Clarkson eventually gives up the hold.
Hanson is looking for a sweep. Clarkson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Clarkson looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Clarkson is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Hanson still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Hanson has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!
Clarkson struggling a bit here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Clarkson is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Clarkson gets full guard.

Clarkson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hanson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hanson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Hanson postures up and lands a big shot to Clarkson's brow.

Clarkson is looking to cinch up a triangle. Hanson throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Clarkson's body to avoid the submission. Clarkson has instead reached around Hanson's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Clarkson arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Hudson Clarkson!
