Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Diego Carpio (ranked 3303 p4p, 5811 weight class) and Billy Jacobs (ranked 317 p4p, 447 weight class). Billy Jacobs will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Diego Carpio! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Billy Jacobs! The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Peter Branson and Santiago Holmes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jacobs throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Carpio on the side of the head. Carpio on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Jacobs looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Diego Carpio seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Carpio wants to clinch up but Jacobs keeps it at a distance. Jacobs now looks to counter with a shot at the body. Carpio takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Jacobs misses the shot to the body. Carpio looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Carpio looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Carpio takes one to the side of the head.
Carpio rushes Jacobs and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Knees to the body from Carpio.
Carpio prevents Jacobs from breaking the clinch. Carpio tries a knee to the head but Jacobs blocks it.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Jacobs will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Carpio up against the cage. Jacobs blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. A short uppercut from Carpio. Jacobs looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Jacobs lands a shoulder strike. Jacobs on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jacobs is trying to break the clinch but Carpio has him pressed against the cage. Carpio lands a knee to the head.
Carpio tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Jacobs manages to break the clinch.
Jacobs ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Carpio takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Carpio is rocked! Jacobs fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Carpio to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Carpio looks to clinch but Jacobs throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Carpio taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Billy Jacobs! Billy Jacobs tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
