With a record of 3 - 15 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Timmy Tung! The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Winston Alpacca and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Both fighters are only really looking to counter, so after a good 30 seconds of circling each other endlessly, the referee has stepped in and told them both to be more aggressive. Joshua misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Tung counters with a one-two to the body. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tung lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Joshua circles away quickly and effectively. Joshua seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Tung throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Joshua was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
That's one minute gone in the round. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Joshua, as that shot connected.
Joshua pounces like a tiger and cracks Tung with a vicious hook! Tung is down but not out! Joshua follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Anthonee Joshua!
