The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kong fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Kong shoots for a takedown but Muzhaiev saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Muzhaiev shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kong as he jumps to the side.
Muzhaiev gets a double leg takedown into Kong's guard.
Kong wants to get back to his feet but Muzhaiev passes into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Muzhaiev has hold of Kong's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Kong manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Muzhaiev postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Kong looks a forlorn figure.
Muzhaiev has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Kong really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Muzhaiev. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

A big strike lands for Muzhaiev! That's really hurt Kong and he's turned his back - Muzhaiev keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Muzhaiev jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
