Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chilun Rassaaja (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Grey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chilun Rassaaja!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Grey!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Lou da Vinci and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grey tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
No luck for Grey with that takedown attempt.
Nice uppercut lands for Rassaaja. That snapped Grey's head back.


It looks like John Grey has been cut.
Grey tries to score with a low kick but Rassaaja moves his leg out of the way.
Grey tries a head kick but it misses.
Grey throws a head kick but Rassaaja moves out of range.
Rassaaja throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Grey.
Rassaaja lands a nice hook to Grey's body. Grey takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Rassaaja throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Rassaaja throws a big overhand right that connects, sending Grey tumbling to the canvas!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Grey has a closed guard, preventing Rassaaja from standing up.

Grey throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Rassaaja escapes and throws Grey's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Grey tries to control but Rassaaja manages to take his back.
Rassaaja is hanging on to Grey's back as he tries to escape.
Rassaaja is trying to stick to Grey's back but Grey is turning into Rassaaja. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Rassaaja's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Grey.

Grey postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Rassaaja is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Grey, into his guard.

Rassaaja has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Grey tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Grey is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Rassaaja is aware though and is defending well.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Rassaaja scores with a decent looking hook.
Rassaaja is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Grey can do to turn this around?

Grey is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Grey closes the distance and clinches up with Rassaaja, looking for a takedown. Grey pushes Rassaaja against the cage but Rassaaja circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Grey displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Rassaaja throws out the jab.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Rassaaja takes a swing at Grey's ribcage but misses.

Ouch! a nice leg kick from Grey, right into the meat.
Grey keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Rassaaja.

Rassaaja leaves Grey with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Rassaaja lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Grey circles away quickly and effectively.
Chilun Rassaaja is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Grey shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Rassaaja is trying to defend but Grey finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Grey is working for a kimura but Rassaaja is defending it quite comfortably.
Grey is breathing heavily.
Grey stops Rassaaja from getting back to his feet.
Grey thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Grey bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Rassaaja tries to bum rush Grey with a series of wild strikes but Grey uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Grey.

Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Grey throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Rassaaja is looking to control Grey's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Rassaaja avoid being mounted?
Rassaaja pushes Grey off looking to stand but Grey dives back in and keeps control.
Rassaaja wants to improve his position but Grey is controlling well.

Grey is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Rassaaja doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Grey.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Grey misses with a head kick.
John Grey has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Grey shoots in but Rassaaja avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Rassaaja misses with a looping left.
A punch lands to the side of Grey 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Grey finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Grey scores with a spinning back kick!
Chilun Rassaaja is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Grey throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Rassaaja comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Rassaaja jabbing away but nothing is landing.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Rassaaja checks a leg kick.
Rassaaja misses with an uppercut.
Rassaaja throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Grey avoids a kick to the body.
Grey throws a head kick but Rassaaja moves out of range.
Grey showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Rassaaja.
Grey uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Rassaaja.
Grey doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Rassaaja counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Nice jab there from Rassaaja.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Chilun Rassaaja.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Rassaaja, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
