Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 7 - 0, fighting out of The Island, JOe Mama!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kini Kong!
The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Bart Greer and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Both fighters are only really looking to counter, so after a good 30 seconds of circling each other endlessly, the referee has stepped in and told them both to be more aggressive.
Mama throws a head kick that misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kong misses with a left hand
and Mama counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Kong is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Mama connects with a high kick.
That's one minute gone in the round.
A jab from Kong misses.
Kong scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Kong falls off balance throwing a combination
and Mama counters with a three punch combo that has Kong backing up. Kong nods at Mama to acknowledge the strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kong connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Mama tumbling to the canvas! Kong pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Mama was done - good stoppage!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Kini Kong!
An out of breath Kini Kong thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
