Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kody Norton (ranked 2919 p4p, 4120 weight class) and Rich Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kody Norton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rich Carter!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Percy O'Donnell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Norton tries to clinch but Carter moves out of range.
Norton misses with a body shot.
Carter slips under a jab.
Carter swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Carter scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Carter ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Carter scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Carter fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Carter looks to land a combination but Norton avoids it well.
Norton fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Norton misses with a takedown attempt - Carter sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Norton staying out of range there.
Norton throws a big shot that misses.
Carter throws a body shot but no joy.

Carter circles away from the clinch attempt
and Carter connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Norton moves forwards but Carter connects with a nice, crisp jab.

It looks like Kody Norton has been cut.
Norton throws a hook but Carter blocks it.
Norton darts in looking for a takedown but Carter gets double underhooks and turns Norton into the cage.
Carter unleashes a big counter combination but Norton bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

Carter gets caught napping as Norton dives in and scores a takedown. Carter manages to retain guard.
Carter is trying to keep Norton in close.

Norton fails to land the takedown.
Norton shoots in looking for a takedown but Carter manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Norton's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Carter scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Norton shoots in for a takedown but Carter shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Carter has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Carter has had enough of the clinch but Norton keeps him there for the moment.
Norton blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Carter swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Norton.

Norton throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Carter's waist but Carter gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Norton off to one side.

Rich Carter showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Carter stalks Norton and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Norton's face. Norton staggers backwards, shaken.
Norton tries to close the distance and clinch but Carter swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Carter looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
An inside leg kick from Norton misses.
Norton pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
A jab from Carter finds it's way through Norton's defenses.
Carter scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Norton is rocked!
Norton drops his hands momentarily. Carter doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Norton staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Norton doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:31 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Rich Carter!
