Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mario Vasquez (ranked 25382 p4p, 2920 weight class) and Jason Flores (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mario Vasquez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jason Flores! The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Roger Salmon and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Flores misses with a body shot.
As Flores tries to get set, Vasquez tries to push him back and clinch up but Flores manages to avoid the attempt. Flores lands a body shot.
Vasquez misses with a takedown and Flores counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Flores throws a right and a left that both miss. Vasquez is looking to clinch but Flores is avoiding it.
Flores swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Flores displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Vasquez. Flores on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Flores listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Vasquez clinches up against the cage. Vasquez stalling the fight.

That's one minute gone in the round. Flores tries to break the clinch but Vasquez is controlling the position. Vasquez lands a nice shot to the body. Flores jumps guard but Vasquez turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Vasquez manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Flores should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Vasquez looking for a sweep. Not yet Vasquez, not yet. Flores is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Flores postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Vasquez is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Flores, into his guard.
Flores is working an open guard so Vasquez takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vasquez fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Flores with a hook. Flores misses the shot to the body. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Flores is defended easily by Vasquez. Vasquez closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Flores tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Vasquez has advanced to mount. Uh oh. Vasquez trying to control but Flores is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vasquez unloads with some shots from mount but Flores bucks and avoids them well.
Vasquez misses with a head shot. Vasquez has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Flores keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Flores tries to hold on but Vasquez postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Vasquez looking to control but Flores is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Flores wants to control but Vasquez is having none of it. Flores keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Flores tries to buck Vasquez off but Vasquez takes his back! Flores tries to roll but Vasquez sticks to his back.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Flores showing good submission defense here.
Flores trying to control the position but Vasquez manages to sink in the hooks. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Mario Vasquez dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Flores connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Flores scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Flores misses with a takedown attempt - Vasquez sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. No luck for Flores with that takedown attempt. Vasquez tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Flores manages to circle out of the way. Vasquez is looking to clinch. Flores misses with a few strikes there.
Vasquez shoots in for a double leg but Flores sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Flores lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Vasquez lands a head kick. Flores smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Vasquez is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Flores. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Vasquez fails to land the takedown.

Flores wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Vasquez manages to break the clinch.
Flores shoots for a double leg takedown but Vasquez sprawls well. He's pushed Flores's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Flores looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Vasquez is fending him off so far but Flores persists. Nope, Vasquez circles away and we're back to standing. Flores throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Vasquez's waist but Vasquez gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Flores off to one side. Nice shot lands for Flores. Vasquez shoots in looking for a takedown but Flores manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Vasquez's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Flores looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Vasquez is fending him off so far but Flores persists. Nope, Vasquez circles away and we're back to standing. Flores fails with the takedown. Flores is breathing heavily. Flores throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Vasquez counters with a three punch combo that has Flores backing up. Flores nods at Vasquez to acknowledge the strikes. Flores stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Flores wants it to stay on the feet. Vasquez blocks a jab. Flores tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Vasquez was well out of range. Poor timing from Flores. Vasquez is looking to counter the offense by Flores and move into the clinch. Vasquez tries to clinch but Flores is having none of it. Flores closes this distance looking for a takedown but Vasquez circles away. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Flores fails to land with a series of punches.

Mario Vasquez is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Vasquez instigates a clinch. Vasquez keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Flores's efforts to push away. Vasquez looking for a takedown. Flores jumps guard but Vasquez stands there with Flores around his waist. Flores gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Flores tries for a takedown but Vasquez circles away easily and Vasquez counters by moving into the clinch. Flores gets control of Vasquez's arms and successfully pulls guard. Flores will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Flores is looking to sweep but instead, Vasquez has passed into half guard.
Flores is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Flores is still trying to improve position. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Jason Flores will probably get the nod - 10:9. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round! Vasquez changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Flores tries to avoid it but Vasquez manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Flores to the ground. Flores escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Flores throws out a counter right but Vasquez avoids it with no problem. Flores scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Flores throws a series of punches but Vasquez avoids them all with ease. Vasquez misses with a takedown attempt and Flores counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Flores connects with a body shot. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Vasquez is defended easily by Flores. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mario Vasquez. That's going to take a lot out of him. Vasquez moves forwards but Flores connects with a nice, crisp jab. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Flores scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Vasquez is rocked! Flores circles away before darting back in with a big straight right hand. It connects beautifully and sends Vasquez tumbling to the canvas! He's out cold! Flores wins by KO!
