Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dawindi Buktot (ranked 23968 p4p, 23927 weight class) and Walay Buut (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 37 - 56 - 5, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dawindi Buktot! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 51 - 44 - 4, fighting out of Las Vegas, Walay Buut! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Cecil Peabody and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Buut shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Buut was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Buut is staying tight to Buktot's torso, preventing him from escaping. Buktot wants to control but Buut postures up. Buut wants to control but Buktot is keeping him busy. You can see the frustration on Buktot's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Buut staying calm. Buut in side control, throwing shots but Buktot defends.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Buut misses with a takedown attempt - Buktot sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Buktot thinks about countering with a body kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Buktot leaves Buut with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Buut misses with a takedown attempt - Buktot sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Dawindi Buktot has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Walay Buut. Buktot bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Buut sneaks out the side door and pushes Buktot away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Buktot shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Buut as he avoids it easily. Buut tries a quick counter leg kick but Buktot is wise to it. Buut shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Buktot defends it nicely. Buktot attempts a counter takedown but Buut avoids it well and moves away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Buktot fails with a takedown attempt. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Buut gets the takedown into side control. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Walay Buut dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Buktot gets the takedown into side control. Buktot is looking to take a break and control but Buut is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Buktot is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Buut has escaped the position, nice work there. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Buktot working away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Buut is trying to get back to half guard. Buut can't do much from the bottom here. Buktot is chipping away with strikes.
Buut wants to control but Buktot postures up. Buktot trying to control the position but Buut is working away.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Buktot shoots in and bounces Buut off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Buktot trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Buut controlling the position. Buut's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Buktot is stalling in the full guard. Buktot postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Buktot showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Buut throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Buktot was covering up waiting for the punch and Buut finishes the takedown easily into guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Buut slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Dawindi Buktot dominated that second round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round! Buktot stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Buktot wants it to stay on the feet. Buut stuffs the takedown. Buut now looks to counter with a shot at the body. Buut misses with a takedown attempt and Buktot counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters. Buut closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Buut lands in his opponent's guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Buut preventing the sweep.
That's one minute gone in the round. Buktot pulls Buut in close to his closed guard and prevents Buut from doing any damage or advancing position. Buut controlling from the top position. Buut postures up in Buktot's guard and throws a big left but Buktot blocks it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Buktot looking to hit a scissor sweep but Buut is one step ahead there. Buut has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Buut sitting in guard, not really doing much. Buut in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Buktot throws the kick towards the body but Buut avoids it. Buut fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Dawindi Buktot has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Walay Buut. Buut shoots in for a double leg but Buktot sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Buut misses with a kick to the body.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Buktot gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Buut counters with a head kick. That will keep Buktot thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Buut shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Buut showed some decent athleticism there.
And that's the end of the fight! Walay Buut comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Buut has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
