Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tony Taxi (ranked 3398 p4p, 3347 weight class) and Sig Freud (ranked 346 p4p, 339 weight class). Tony Taxi has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tony Taxi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sig Freud! The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Sosuke Kotani and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Taxi doesn't succeed with the takedown and Taxi takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. No joy there for Freud, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
A swing and a miss from Freud. Freud throws a right and a left that both miss. Freud keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Taxi shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Freud defends it nicely. The fighters circle momentarily. Freud darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Freud will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
That's one minute gone in the round. Freud throws a right and a left that Taxi avoids nicely. Freud circles away from the clinch attempt.
Sig Freud is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Taxi throws a body shot but no joy. Freud throws a shot from downtown. Taxi moves away and avoids it. Taxi tries to move into range but Freud moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Taxi tries for a takedown but Freud sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tony Taxi. That's going to take a lot out of him. Taxi avoids a punch combination nicely.
Freud lands a lovely overhand right. Taxi moves out of range as Freud strikes. Taxi misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Freud.
Taxi shoots in and bounces Freud off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Taxi showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Freud keeping full guard, as Taxi tries to pass. Freud keeping moving, preventing Taxi from controlling successfully. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Taxi pushes down on Freud's leg and manages to get into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Freud is looking to improve his position.
Freud keeps trying to improve his position. Freud misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Freud gets full guard. Taxi stops Freud from standing up. Taxi wants to control from the top but Freud keeps moving. Freud is trying to control the position from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Taxi shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Freud defends it nicely. Freud scores with the left hand. Taxi knows he should have avoided that one. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Taxi moves away from the strike by Freud. Taxi bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Freud tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Taxi wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Sig Freud dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! A swing and a miss from Taxi. Taxi tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Freud was well out of range. Poor timing from Taxi. The fight stays on the outside here - Taxi looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Freud has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Freud lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Taxi goes for a double leg but Freud avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Freud continues to drive forward. Freud swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Freud breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Taxi shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Freud has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Taxi is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Freud. Taxi trying to control the position but Freud is working away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Freud can't do much from the bottom here. Freud tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops. Taxi tightening his grip on Freud, looking for the choke. Freud tries to roll but Taxi sticks to his back.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Freud trying to control the position but Taxi manages to sink in the hooks. Taxi looking for the choke but no joy. Freud wants to escape the position.
Freud tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Taxi is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Freud has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Freud tries to hold on but Taxi pushes him away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Freud is looking to get to half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Freud tries to lock up and control but Taxi gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Taxi prevents Freud from getting the reversal. Taxi definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Freud is still trying to improve position. Taxi swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Freud is now in Taxi's guard. A big mistake from Taxi there, giving up the dominant position! Taxi is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Freud forces his way into half guard. Taxi wants to improve his position but Freud is controlling well.
Taxi is working on a guillotine. He's managed to get to full guard and he's really squeezing tight! Freud is tapping! Great win for Taxi!
