Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jake Phipps!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Si Won Choi!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Sandra Marshall and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Phipps fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Choi avoids it really well and circles away.
Choi explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Choi throws a nice head kick!
Choi moves out of range as Phipps throws a body kick.
Choi throws a nice head kick!
Phipps avoids the head kick by Choi.
Choi avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Phipps takes one on the chin but seems OK.
No luck for Phipps with that takedown attempt.
Phipps really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Phipps swings for the body but Choi moves out of range.
Phipps throws out a loose jab but Choi uses good head movement to avoid it.
Choi looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Phipps shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Choi but Choi pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jake Phipps. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Choi goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Phipps shoots for a double leg takedown but Choi sprawls well. He's pushed Phipps's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Choi throws a head kick that Phipps semi-blocks.
Phipps is rocked!
Choi feints a jab and as Phipps dips his head, Choi unleashes a brutal head kick that catches Phipps right on the jaw! Timbeeer! Phipps falls backwards in slow motion, only propped up by the cage! Choi smiles a psychotic smile as he stares down his unconscious opponent. That is a scary man.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Si Won Choi!
