Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Shirou Masuda and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kyrylo lands a nice leg kick that just misses Montrose's sensitive parts.
Kyrylo throws a solid leg kick but Montrose takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Kyrylo.

Montrose tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Kyrylo went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Montrose shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Kyrylo eats them both and turns towards Montrose to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Montrose tries to bum rush Kyrylo with a series of wild strikes but Kyrylo uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
A quick step to the side and Kyrylo tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

Sloppy strikes from Montrose. Those never looked like landing.
Montrose has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
A chopping leg kick lands by Kyrylo.
Montrose shoots in looking for a takedown. Kyrylo tries to sprawl out of it but Montrose keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kyrylo manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Kyrylo takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Montrose has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Kyrylo clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Kyrylo is trying to get back to his feet but Montrose has full control of the position and if anything, Kyrylo has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Montrose is hanging on to Kyrylo's back as he tries to escape.

Kyrylo is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Montrose has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Kyrylo has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Kyrylo breaks Montrose's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
