Aybara kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Skinny Puppy Protest. Perrin Aybara could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Mark Evans's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mark Evans!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Winston Howard and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Aybara shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Aybara was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Evans can do anything to dispel that myth.
Evans looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

It looks like Mark Evans has been cut.
Aybara can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Evans is looking to escape.
Aybara lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Aybara is working for a guillotine from mount but Evans frees his head quite easily.

Aybara lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Evans circles away quickly and effectively.

Aybara working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Evans doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Evans manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Evans stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Aybara swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Aybara manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Aybara passes Evans's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Aybara works his foot free and advances to mount.
Evans is squirming around, avoiding Aybara's attempts to control the action.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Aybara is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!

Aybara's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Aybara duly obliges.

Aybara feints and as Evans raises his hands in defense, Aybara changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Evans had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Aybara is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Evans Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Aybara's back instead.
Evans is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften Aybara up.
Aybara rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Aybara manages to get to full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Evans drops back, looking for a kneebar! Aybara looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Aybara looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Aybara!
Evans tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
Aybara is not going to allow Evans to sit and survive in this position.

Evans is trying to defend against the choke here but Aybara has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Aybara Tightens the hold and Evans taps out furiously! Aybara displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
