The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way.
King drives through and clinches with Sam against the cage.
King wants the takedown. Sam is fighting it off but King persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Sam's guard against the cage. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: King (2) vs (0) Sam
King drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Sam manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now King has Sam in his guard. Score +2 for sweep to guard / half guard: King (2) vs (2) Sam
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
King wants to sweep here but Sam controlling him for the moment.
King looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Sam has picked King up and slammed him! King can't keep hold of the triangle and Sam manages to pass to side control! Score +3 for passing guard: King (2) vs (5) Sam
