Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ricky Reyes!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Boston Lane!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lane lands a nice hook to Reyes's body. Reyes takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Lane lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Reyes circles away quickly and effectively.
Lane lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Lane.
Lane misses with a wild body shot.
Lane rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Reyes moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Reyes fails with an attempt to clinch.
Lane looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Lane pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Reyes back to the cage. Lane follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Lane connects with a looping right hand.
A combination from Lane does no damage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Reyes shoots in for a takedown but Lane shows good takedown defense.
Lane ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Reyes changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Lane looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Lane is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Reyes is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Lane is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Lane wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Reyes lands a few punches from side control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lane takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Lane is pushing Reyes's head away, looking to escape. Reyes manages to hold on to the position though.

Reyes has hold of Lane's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Lane tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Reyes cranks the arm and Lane screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Lane, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Ricky Reyes!
Ricky Reyes retains his featherweight title!
