Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dylan Dunn (ranked 2354 p4p, 2330 weight class) and Ardbeg Islay (ranked 278 p4p, 276 weight class). Dunn's entrance music is "Take a Step Back". A fine choice. Ardbeg Islay is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dylan Dunn! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ardbeg Islay! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dunn takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. A swing and a miss from Islay. Ardbeg Islay seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Islay throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Islay cracks Dunn with a right hand to the side of the head. Islay tries to clinch but Dunn moves out of range. Islay looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Dunn misses with a jab, cross combination.
Islay wants to counter with a clinch but Dunn pushes him away. Islay scores with a hook to the body. Dunn takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Islay throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Islay comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Islay misses with a body punch
and Dunn counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Dunn will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Sloppy strikes from Dunn. Those never looked like landing. Dunn has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Islay throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Islay closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Islay is putting a hurting on Dunn here, landing some big shots from side control. Dunn tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Islay easily slips into full mount! Islay landing strikes from the mount and Dunn is in trouble! Dunn is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Dunn on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Dunn tries to get out of the position. Dunn tries to hold on but Islay postures up. Islay landing strikes from the mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dunn tries to lock up and control but Islay gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Dunn is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Da Trenches Fighting System, so we'll see if he gets out of it. Dunn knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Islay on the ground. Islay lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Islay throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Dunn because Islay loaded up on that one. Islay lands a big shot there that rocks Dunn but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Islay lands with some strikes. Dunn might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Islay lands a couple of good shots and Dunn has given up his back, trying to escape the position! Dunn looking very determined here, making life difficult for Islay.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Dunn avoids the strikes from Islay. Islay scores with punches from the back.

Ardbeg Islay dominated that round. That's time! Dunn's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Islay is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Dunn's half guard. Islay has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Dunn is looking to control Islay's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Dunn avoid being mounted? Dunn regains full guard. Nicely done. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dunn avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Dunn is trying to maintain the position but Islay is very close to passing his half guard. Islay has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Islay is in the full mount, landing strikes. Dunn is trying to escape the mount.

Dunn wants to control but Islay is keeping busy and won't allow it. Islay takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Islay is thwarting Dunn's attempts to control the position. Dunn slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Dunn is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Islay controlling from the top position. Islay missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Dunn is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Ardbeg Islay showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Ardbeg Islay seems to be getting the better of the standup. Islay tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Dunn paws at him with a jab and circles away. Dunn ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Dylan Dunn is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. No luck for Islay with that takedown attempt.

That's going to take a lot out of Ardbeg Islay. Dunn throws a series of punches but Islay moves out of range. Islay swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Dunn appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Islay misses the body punch and Dunn counters with a right hand to the body. Islay closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Dunn is pressing down on Islay's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Dunn looking for a sweep. Not yet Dunn, not yet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dunn wants to hit a sweep here but Islay passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Dunn there! Islay content just to control the position here. Islay lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Dunn hang on? Dylan Dunn has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Dunn wants to control but Islay is having none of it. Dunn is desperately trying to improve his position but Islay has a good base and remains in mount. Ardbeg Islay is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

And that's the end of the fight! Ardbeg Islay comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Islay has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
