Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Richard Castillo (ranked 2237 p4p, 2387 weight class) and Saint Arai (ranked 195 p4p, 202 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Richard Castillo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Saint Arai! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice defenses there by Arai. Arai throws the left hand but Castillo avoids the punch easily. Castillo definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Castillo keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Castillo loads up on a big right hand but Arai slips the punch. Arai now looks to counter with a shot at the body. Arai throws an overhand right that lands on Castillo's shoulder, as Castillo tries to avoid the shot. Arai looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Castillo doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Castillo misses with a lunging right hand
and Arai counters with a nice uppercut. Arai keeps the fight on the outside. Castillo misses the body punch and Arai counters with a stiff right hand. Arai displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Castillo throws out the jab. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Arai keeps the fight on the outside. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Arai! But no joy. Arai throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Castillo stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Arai comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Arai loads up on a big right hand but Castillo slips the punch. Castillo tests Arai's chin there with a solid looking shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Good standup being displayed there by Arai as he connects with a hook. Castillo connects with a body shot. Arai lands a jab to Castillo's midsection. Saint Arai is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Arai swings for the body but Castillo moves out of range.

and Arai counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Arai lands a jab to the nose. Castillo throws a hook but Arai blocks it. Arai looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Castillo is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

and Arai counters with a series of strikes. Castillo will be more careful next time no doubt. Castillo throws out a loose jab but Arai uses good head movement to avoid it. Arai looks to score with a jab to the body but Castillo is just out of range. Castillo feinted with a counter takedown. Arai misses with a wild body shot. Castillo tries for a takedown but Arai sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Arai throws a shot from downtown. Castillo moves away and avoids it. Arai smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Castillo throws an ugly left hook that misses

A looping hook to the body misses from Arai. Castillo does a little dance to reset his feet. Castillo doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Castillo throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Arai on the side of the head. Castillo throws a body shot but no joy. Arai swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Arai throws a looping overhand right but Castillo ducks down to avoid it. Arai throws a right hand that Castillo ducks under and follows up with a left that Castillo also avoids with ease. As Arai looks to move away, Castillo throws a big counter combo but Arai just gets out of the way. Arai connects with a good right hand that stumbles Castillo. Castillo circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Arai misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
An attempted straight right counter from Castillo misses the target. Castillo cracks a nice hook into Arai's ribs. Castillo misses with a right hand and Arai cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Castillo scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Arai parries the strikes from Castillo easily there. Castillo is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Arai to escape.
Castillo lands a nice forearm strike. Arai has one of Castillo's arms on lockdown, trying to prevent him from doing any damage. Castillo looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Arai tries to buck Castillo off but Castillo is having none of it. Castillo lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Arai down.
Arai wants to control but Castillo postures up. Castillo working the ground and pound. Castillo looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Arai parries the strikes from Castillo easily there. Castillo is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Arai to escape.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Saint Arai dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Castillo needs to keep his hands up - Arai had a free shot at his head there. Castillo waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Arai. Castillo wants to clinch up but Arai keeps it at a distance. Arai misses with a shot to the body and Arai takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Castillo looks to land a combination but Arai avoids it well. Saint Arai seems to be getting the better of the standup. Arai ducks right into an uppercut from Castillo. Castillo tries to move into range but Arai moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Arai digs a good body shot into Castillo's ribs. No joy there for Arai, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Not much technique there but it did the business. Castillo throws a good cross that connects.

The fighters are pinned against the cage. Arai manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Arai pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Saint Arai is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Castillo swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. As Castillo backs off Arai throws a huge counter combo but Castillo manages to avoid it all. Arai pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Castillo darts in and clinches Arai up against the cage. Arai is looking to break free of the clinch but Castillo has double underhooks. Castillo has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Arai is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Richard Castillo. That's going to take a lot out of him. Arai is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Castillo misses with a short punch on the inside.

And that's the end of the fight! Saint Arai comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Arai winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
