And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 8 wins and 19 losses; Filmore Everett! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Daniel Franklin and Robert Twigg.
Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious? Dalton drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Score +4 for clean takedown past guard: Dalton (4) vs (0) Everett The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Everett trying to remain calm as Dalton controls from the top position. Everett is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Everett seems a little lost for a moment, as Dalton dominates the positioning. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Everett can do anything to dispel that myth. Dalton has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Dalton seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Everett for as long as he can get away with. Everett felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Everett is looking to regain half guard here but Dalton keeps moving and retains side control. Dalton happy to just control the position for now. Everett holds on tight, trying to prevent any damage. Dalton is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Dalton continues to stall.

Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Further stalling from Dalton. Everett is trying to control Dalton's posture but Dalton avoids it. Everett is looking for a sweep. Dalton controls the position.
That's nine minutes gone in the round. Dalton continues to hold on tight. Dalton is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Everett knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
