In the red corner, competing out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 18 wins and 8 losses; Chad Strdoza! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 7 wins and 18 losses; Filmore Everett! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Robert Twigg and Daniel Franklin.
Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious? Strdoza circles away from the clinch attempt.
Strdoza tries to counter by clinching up but Everett breaks away and moves out of range. Everett misses with a takedown attempt - Strdoza sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Strdoza appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Everett tries for a takedown but Strdoza sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Strdoza is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Everett. Everett fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Chad Strdoza has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Filmore Everett. Everett shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Everett tries to clinch but Strdoza moves away so Strdoza counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Strdoza (2) vs (0) Everett Strdoza trying to control the position from guard on top but Everett is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Strdoza slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Score +3 for passing guard: Strdoza (5) vs (0) Everett The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
That's one minute gone in the round. Strdoza tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Everett can do anything to dispel that myth. Strdoza has hold of Everett's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Everett seems comfortable defending it but Strdoza has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Everett is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Everett is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Strdoza couldn't care less - he's delighted!
