Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Sampson Simpson (ranked 4133 p4p, 25519 weight class) and Ricardo Diaz (ranked 285 p4p, 361 weight class). Diaz has chosen Green Goblin Mode as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Ricardo Diaz will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sampson Simpson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ricardo Diaz! The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Bruno Lombardi and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Diaz throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Simpson counters with a nice body shot. Diaz lands with a kick to the temple. Simpson shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Diaz scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Simpson moves into range and clinches up with Diaz. Simpson keeps control of Diaz as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Diaz has had enough of the clinch but Simpson keeps him there for the moment. Diaz can't break the clinch.

Diaz moves into the clinch. Nice elbow from Diaz. Simpson drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Diaz gets the underhooks and prevents it.
A frustrated look appears on Diaz's face as he tries to break the clinch. Simpson is trying to trip Diaz. He has hold of a leg but Diaz is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Simpson persists though and gets the takedown into guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Simpson lands a couple of elbows. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Simpson's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Simpson sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Diaz's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Simpson is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Diaz pushes Simpson off looking to stand but Simpson dives back in and keeps control.
Simpson is nestled in close to Diaz, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Simpson lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Simpson prevents Diaz from standing back up.
Diaz looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Diaz looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Still in half guard, Simpson seems content to control. Simpson landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Simpson lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Simpson not doing much here.
Diaz wants to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Diaz trying to control but Simpson postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Simpson lands a nice short elbow.
Diaz is rocked! Simpson scores with a big shot! Diaz's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Diaz! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sampson Simpson! An intense looking Sampson Simpson took to the microphone post fight and gave a little speech: 'Thank you everyone for the support! I am just getting started and am planning for a takeover!'. Ricardo Diaz was interviewed post fight and said 'I don't accept this! The fight's outcome? A sham! Every blow I dealt was a testament to my dominance. They can keep their trophy; my spirit remains undefeated. This isn't over, not by a long shot!'.
