Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jean Arlin (ranked 3339 p4p, 3378 weight class) and Simon Maynard (ranked 360 p4p, 365 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jean Arlin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Simon Maynard!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Bart Greer and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Maynard.
Maynard throws a sloppy head kick
and Arlin counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Arlin misses the shot to the body.
Maynard throws a counter combo.
Arlin avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Arlin looks to land a left hand but Maynard moved out of range nicely.
A looping hook to the body misses from Arlin. Maynard does a little dance to reset his feet.
Maynard just misses with a punch to the body.
Maynard throws the left hand but Arlin avoids the punch easily.
Arlin seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Arlin throws a hook to the side of Maynard's head but Maynard sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Maynard lands with a kick to the temple. Arlin shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Maynard displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Arlin throws out the jab.

Maynard takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Arlin looks to score with a jab to the body but Maynard is just out of range.
The fighters circling - Arlin throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Maynard unleashes a big counter combination but Arlin bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Maynard goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Arlin pushes Maynard against the cage. Arlin is working some dirty boxing. Arlin pushes off with a quick right hook! Maynard goes down! Maynard tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Arlin moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jean Arlin!
