Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Denise Kormier (ranked 4106 p4p, 4492 weight class) and Midget Mode Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 265 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Denise Kormier! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Midget Mode Jones! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Sosuke Kotani and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Kormier's half guard. Jones seems to be working for a kimura but Kormier defends the submission attempt. Jones is pressing down on Kormier's thigh, looking to free his foot. Kormier is holding on for now. Jones is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Jones is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jones content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Jones is looking to advance position but Kormier won't allow it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Kormier sees it coming and defends easily. Kormier makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Kormier. Kormier trying to control the position.
Jones is looking to pass into half guard but Kormier pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Kormier is in guard. Kormier trying to control but Jones is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kormier loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Kormier is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Kormier trying to control but Jones is working from the bottom. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Jones looking for a sweep. Not yet Jones, not yet. Kormier passes easily into side control. Nice work. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Kormier cracks Jones with a big elbow. Kormier is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Jones knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Kormier could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kormier laying and praying for a moment but Jones takes advantage and regains half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jones is looking for a sweep. Kormier is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Jones looking for submissions off his back. Jones looks winded! Kormier throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Kormier trying to control the action but Jones is working from the bottom. Kormier perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Jones is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Kormier pulls his head out easily. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Ground and pound from Kormier. Kormier tries to stand but his arm is trapped. Kormier prevents Jones from improving his position. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Jones is concentrating on defense, preventing Kormier from advancing position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Kormier feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Denise Kormier dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Kormier scores with a takedown into Jones's guard. Kormier wants to control from the top but Jones keeps moving. Jones has control of Kormier's left arm, preventing Kormier from doing any damage. Kormier postures up.

Kormier is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Jones is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Kormier closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Jones is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Jones is breathing heavily. Jones tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Kormier presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Jones is squirming around, avoiding Kormier's attempts to control the action. Kormier landing strikes from the mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones wants to hold on but Kormier pushes him away. Jones is squirming around, avoiding Kormier's attempts to control the action. Kormier controlling his opponent. Kormier is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Jones can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Jones tries to hold on but Kormier pushes him away. Jones is in all sorts of trouble here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Poor strikes thrown by Kormier there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Kormier with good strikes from the mount here! Kormier trying to control but he's not successful this time. Jones is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Kormier throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. Kormier putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Denise Kormier overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Kormier pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Kormier landing strikes, looking to finish!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Kormier sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Jones tries to reverse the position but Kormier maintains control. Kormier raining down hammerfists from mount. Kormier looking to control and managing it successfully. Kormier lands a couple of good shots and Jones has given up his back, trying to escape the position! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Kormier is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Jones can do to turn this around? Kormier working for a choke but Jones is defending well. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Denise Kormier dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Kormier closes the distance and clinches. Jones tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Kormier pulls guard effortlessly. Jones postures up.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Jones takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Kormier leaves Jones with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Kormier rushes Jones and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Midget Mode Jones has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Kormier throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Joness head. Kormier's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Kormier dives in and scores a takedown into Jones's guard. Jones can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Kormier controls the pace. Jones is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Kormier working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Jones's head. Jones looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones looking for a guillotine here but Kormier defends easily.
Kormier is looking to stand up but Jones won't let him. Kormier sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Jones's guard. Jones is not content to let Kormier control the position. Kormier slips a nice elbow through Jones's hands, connecting with Jones's forehead. Kormier is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Jones doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Kormier.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Kormier takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Kormier is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Jones defends it well. Kormier is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Denise Kormier is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Jones keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Denise Kormier showed his dominance in that final round. Well Kormier has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
